Westchester Real Estate NewsScarsdale, NY - Lewis Arlt, Manager of Houlihan-Lawrence Realty Company's Scarsdale branch, met with Greenburgh Nature Center director William Lawyer recently to give the Center a check for $1,500 in support of the Center's upcoming natural history exhibit and booklet, entitled "Growing Green With Nature."

The exhibit, which is being developed by the Center's naturalist education staff, will focus on the lessons that can be learned from nature in making our lives more "green."  One of the main themes will be "biomimicry" wherein engineers and designers utilize nature for particular products.  Solar energy panels inspired by butterfly wings is just one example.  Products with pigment-free colors is another invention inspired by butterfly wings.  The exhibit will open in early February 2008 and run through June.

Along with the exhibit, the Center's staff will be preparing an illustrated booklet and web site materials highlighting its themes and providing examples.  Copies of this booklet will be available at the Houlihan-Lawrence office on Popham Road.

For further information, phone (914) 723-3470 or visit the web site at www.greenburghnaturecenter.org.

The Center is located on Dromore Road off Central Avenue just south of the Hartsdale Post Office.  The Center’s grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk throughout the year.  The Manor House exhibits are open daily except Fridays and a few holidays from 9:30 to 4:30 on weekdays and 10 to 4:30 on weekends.  Admission to the manor house is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (62+) and students, $3 for children ages 2-12, and free for children under 2.
