Westchester’s Recall Plus® for Consumable Products insurance covers any product that is ingestible, topical, and for human consumption. Coverages are made-to-order, allowing policyholders to select “add-on” coverages based on their needs, what they would like, or their budget. MINIMUMS / LIMITS

  • Limits as low as $50,000
  • Minimum premium of $1,000
  • $5,000 minimum SIR for a $1MM primary limit
  • $5 million in limits available on a primary or excess basis. Additional capacity may be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Voluntary, involuntary and mandatory stock recoveries, market withdrawals and/or recalls
  • Up to $5MM in limits available

PREFERRED CLASSES

On a primary basis, the focus is on companies with sales up to $1 billion. Companies with sales in excess of $1 billion will be considered, with either a high self-insured retention, or on an excess basis.

Product Recall is for consumable products (everything ingestible and topical, for human consumption) and preferred industries include food & beverage, cosmetics, tobacco, and pharmaceutical. These companies could be processors, manufacturers, co-packers, bottlers, importers, distributors, packagers, wholesalers, or suppliers of ingredients. However, products sold or distributed in bulk (like grain or sugar) will only be considered on an excess basis.  Under pharmaceutical products, small to midsize over the counter and generic drug manufacturers (second/third tier) will be considered. Prescription drugs will be considered only if they have been available for several years in the marketplace.
