Acclaimed Food Writer To Speak At White Plains Library Event
White Plains, NY - Join acclaimed food writer, John T. Edge, for an evening of food and conversation on Sunday, June 10, from 6:30-8:30 at the White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Avenue, White Plains.
Edge, who hails from Oxford, Mississippi, has written several books on American food, and has been included in the Best American Food Writing every year since 2001. He is the 2012 winner of the MFK Fisher Distinguished Writing Award presented by the James Beard Foundation, the nation’s most prestigious recognition program honoring professionals in the food and beverage industries. In addition to being the director of the Southern Foodways Alliance, Edge writes the “United Tastes” column for the New York Times and contributes to Oxford American and Garden & Gun. He has also written for Gourmet, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, GQ, The New York Times Magazine, Travel + Leisure, and many more. He was a commentator for NPR’s All Things Considered, a judge on Iron Chef, and has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, Nightline, and more.
Event tickets are $65 and include a food-truck themed hors d’oeuvres buffet, beer and wine. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author, and there will be a silent auction featuring wining and dining. Proceeds will benefit the White Plains Library Foundation.
